PROJECT NARRATIVE
Virtually all people with Down Syndrome will develop Alzheimer's Disease dementia. We previously showed that
a hormone called follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) can increase the development of Alzheimer's pathology in
the brain. In the proposed work, we determine whether Down Syndrome is associated with changes in FSH in
mouse models of Down Syndrome and ask whether decreasing the signaling of FSH in mouse models of Down
Syndrome reduces Alzheimer's-like pathology and helps restore function in other organ systems.
