RELEVANCE By promoting multidisciplinary team science, engaging institutional and community stakeholders, promulgating the conviction that participating in health research is a matter of shared self-interest and social justice – a “new normal” prevailing viewpoint – and developing innovative and sometimes disruptive approaches to advance the science and practice of clinical and translational research, we expect to mitigate disease risk, morbidity and mortality, improve the conduct and pace of health research, and ultimately improve the health of Chicago and the nation.
