Project Narrative
The project aims to develop a mobile app to help people with Down syndrome (DS) to adopt healthy behaviors
such as increased physical activity, healthier dietary patterns, and better sleep habits. We will develop the app
using focus groups and interviews with key stakeholders, including individuals with DS, in order to ensure that
our app addresses the needs, developmental level, and technological sophistication of our target users
(children/adolescents with DS and their caregivers). Findings from this study will pave the way for a
randomized controlled trial testing the efficacy of this mobile app in improving physical activity, diet, sleep, and
weight outcomes in the DS population.
