Children with Down syndrome (DS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are highly susceptible to anthracycline- related cardiotoxicity. This project will delineate the contribution of specific molecular factors to anthracycline- cardiotoxicity in the DS setting. Results of these integrative studies will provide new data for the design of novel pharmacological interventions to prevent the development of cardiotoxicity in children with DS and AML.
