Currently there is no effective treatment available for cognitive defects in people with Down syndrome (DS). This project will help understand the role of protein synthesis associated with eEF2K/eEF2 signaling in DS-associated cognitive impairments with aging. This work could inform future identification of novel therapeutic targets for DS and related cognitive syndromes.
