Targeting protein synthesis dysregulation in Down syndrome-associated cognitive impairment with aging

Currently there is no effective treatment available for cognitive defects in people with Down syndrome (DS). This project will help understand the role of protein synthesis associated with eEF2K/eEF2 signaling in DS-associated cognitive impairments with aging. This work could inform future identification of novel therapeutic targets for DS and related cognitive syndromes.
