The proposed INCLUDE supplement aligns with INCLUDE’s research plan Component 3 priority area, as well as NIDCD’s vision to improve the lives of people with communication disorders, by informing language and communication interventions for young children with Down syndrome (DS). Findings from the proposed supplement will inform caregiver-mediated interventions by providing empirical evidence for specific clinical recommendations on adult linguistic simplification, thus contributing to improved long-term outcomes in children with DS.
