Home Grown: A family-based lifestyle intervention to support healthy development of young children with Down syndrome
Summary
PROJECT NARRATIVE
The overall goal of this project is to test an adapted health promotion program, HomeGrown, that leverages
home environmental changes to improve the health of young children with Down syndrome. There is a critical
need for evidence-based health promotions programs targeting healthy eating and physical activity that
specifically address the unique demands of families of young children with Down syndrome. This work would
improve inclusion in, and equity of, health behavior promotion efforts previously limited to typically developing
children.
