PROJECT NARRATIVE The proposed research is relevant to public health because it defines mechanisms for impaired neurodevelopment in Down Syndrome, which is a common genetic cause of intellectual disability. Thus, this proposal is relevant to the part of NIH’s mission that pertains to the discovery and application of knowledge to reduce illness and disability.
